STEP 1. BREATHE AND DO A LITTLE DANCE, YOU MADE IT TO THE BEST PROTEIN SHAKE BAR IN TOWN – BOOM!
You see our Protein Haus team over there? Well they’re an awesome bunch – they will always be happy to talk you through ANYTHING you’re unsure of (overheard today: “Yo Evelina, what the heck’s ‘Tulsi’?!”… “it’s a type of Basil”…”Ohhhhh – it tastes yum!”) Or maybe you want to know about our labels? So: KCAL: is total calories. P: is protein C: is carbs F: is fats. Once you’ve done your happy feet jig, go say hi and just ask them if you need any help.

STEP 2. CHOOSING YOUR PROTEIN SHAKE.
If you are trying to lose weight I would suggest you focus on looking at the calories first. Narrow your choice down to all the shakes that are under 300 calories, and then simply think about which one you would enjoy the most. Is it the taste of peanut butter you’re craving, or are you more of a fruity character? It doesn’t matter which – just focus on what truly gets your ‘Mmm Yum!’ alarm bell ringing! (…it’s important when dieting to feel satisfied, else you’ll just opt for something extra afterwards!)
If you are coming straight from the gym, lucky you – any shake will do the trick for you! If you are trying to lean up, look at the carb content of the shakes and go for ones which are C:20g or less. If on the other hand you are trying to gain some muscle, opt for the higher P: for protein content, and make sure the calories are 300 or more.
If you’re choosing a shake to replace a meal, it’s important to focus on Protein AND good Carbs – don’t forget if it’s not in the fridge we can make it – just ask at the till (and you can choose to have it in a bottle rather than a cup if you’re saving it for later!).
Then of course there’s the “Build-your-own” – here your options are as endless as your imagination! Personally I would suggest if you want to create you own, the best base to start with is almond milk. Then choose a fruit – either berries or banana, and then add some spinach for good measure (you’ll be surprised how good spinach tastes with so many other ingredients!) Finally just choose your protein flavour, vanilla or chocolate are firm favourites, and there you have it – your own customised shake, pretty cool huh?!

STEP 3. NEXT CHOOSE DESSERT! (Yes, I always choose my dessert before my meal. I’m not going to justify this – just accept me as I am!) We have an amazing selection of low calorie, high-yum-factor treats. Enjoy the process of admiring how good they look in their little clear tubs, pick them up and have a read of the ingredients and hell, just go with what makes you the most excited! We have everything from low carb fruit mix and low carb cookies, to protein pancakes, homemade truffles and carrot cake. [If there was small print it would say: No guarantee can be provided that if you try our protein muffins or our no-bake-balls that you won’t become obsessed with them.]

STEP 4. CHOOSE YOUR MEAL. I know there’s a lot of meals on our shelves – but that’s cos you guys like choices! So i’m going to break them down for you, we have four types here…
1. Fitness food boxes which are all designed for healthy eating, weight loss and lean muscle goals.
2. Salads we have a fun selection of Protein Haus bowls – if you are hungry these will fill you up nicely but without denting your calorie-bank for the day.
3. Green wraps we have some wonderful new wraps which are going down a treat! There are fillings to suit all diet needs – fish, meat and vegan.
4. Mini pots if you like to pick’n’mix, then try Protein Haus Tapas-stylee! Choose 3 or 4 mini pots and enjoy a little bit of everything. Unlike true tapas we don’t advocate sharing our food ha ha!

STEP 5. HEAD TO THE TILL. (or my friend anna will nic ya!) Not only does heading to the till mean you avoid the Feds, but more to the point we often have tasters of products here for you to try, and samples of our protein shakes too. Plus there’s our infamous ‘special treats’ that make regular appearances, such as our Pronuts (yup, protein donuts) which you can grab but be warned they do not stick around for long! You may choose to snap one up as a thoughtful gesture for a friend (or you can pretend it’s for a friend and eat it on the way home haha!). We also sometimes have meal deals and promotions and my staff will let you know if we do. And finally, don’t forget to get your loyalty card stamped – after 9 stamps you get a FREE PROTEIN SHAKE ON US… and that’s worth going back to Step 1 and dancing about!
